Privacy Policy — Kairos

Last updated: July 2026

Kairos ("we," "us") makes a screen-time app that helps you reduce your own phone use. This policy explains what the app does and does not do with your information. Short version: your screen-time data stays on your device, and we don't track you.

1. What Kairos accesses

With your permission, Kairos uses Apple's Screen Time features (Family Controls, Managed Settings, Device Activity) to let you select apps, categories, and websites and to block them. The apps you select are represented by opaque tokens provided by iOS — Kairos cannot see the names of the apps you choose, and neither can we.

2. What we store, and where

Your selections, schedules, blocking history, streaks, and settings are stored ONLY on your device (including a private App Group container used by the app's on-device extensions). This information is never transmitted to us or to any third party. We operate no analytics servers and run no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.

3. What we do not collect

We do not collect your name, email, contacts, location, browsing history, or usage data. We do not sell or share personal data. We do not track you across apps or websites, and we do not show ads. If you add an accountability partner, you provide their mobile phone number within the app. We store that number to deliver automated messages on your behalf: an initial text asking your partner to confirm by replying YES, and — once confirmed — one message per day summarizing which of your self-set app limits you exceeded that day. Your partner's phone number is never shared with, sold to, or used by any third party other than our SMS delivery provider (Twilio), which sends the message on our behalf and does not use it for any other purpose. Your partner can stop these messages at any time by replying STOP. Message frequency: up to one message per day, only on days you exceed a limit you set. Message and data rates may apply.

4. Purchases

Subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store. Apple, not Kairos, handles your payment information; we never receive your card or payment details. We receive only the anonymous subscription status needed to unlock features, verified on your device.

5. Children

Kairos is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.

6. Data retention & deletion

Because your data lives on your device, deleting the app removes it. You can also clear selections and history in the app at any time.

7. Security

Data stored on your device is protected by iOS's standard app sandboxing and device encryption.

8. Changes

We may update this policy; the "last updated" date above will change, and for material changes we'll note it in the app.
